Afrika Burn Social Media Marketing

If you have been following my Blog, my last 2 posts have been about the Cultural and Marketing research of ''Afrika Burn''. I analysed their policies when it comes to using event content from promotion and what is and isn't allowed to be used as marketing strategies towards the event.
In this post, I will be writing about their Social Media Strategies and how they promote the event themselves, without interfering with their cultural beliefs and views.

According to a statistic, published in Dream Glow.com , made in February of 2018, Facebook is the most used Social Media platform. Facebook is no longer just an app through which people can connect with each other and create friendships, It is now a major Marketing tool used by the majority of people, involved in the event industry.

When it comes to ''Afrika Burn'', despite their policies of preventing ''commercial'' marketing strategies, the event has a Facebook Page with over 79,000 followers and is rated 4.8 out 5 stars by Facebook users. The page is open to all Facebook users and they can look through the history and purpose of the event, rate the event (as stated above) and can follow updates of the event.
Although sometimes people make fan pages of events, you can clearly see the verification icon on the right side of the event title, which means that Facebook has confirmed it's authenticity.

Upon further research, I stumbled upon an Instagram profile, by the name of the event ''Afrika Burn''. I cannot identify it is the real Instagram page, or a fan page, as it has no verification icon, such as Facebook has (refer to the picture above). It has over 3,000 followers though, but only a bit over 50 posts.

The event has a Twitter page (not verified), which consists of over 4,000 followers and often updates on ticket sales and general event promotion.

I couldn't find any YouTube channels, under the name of the festival, only recordings of fans and fan made trailers.
